Here's a sneak peek: ' "I don't see any bruises," Sara chimed in. That was about enough for me, now I had to see who the heck they were ogling, though I had a sneaking suspicion that I already knew.

Tylinda and I both walked over to the window, even though she had been able to see most of the view from where we'd been sitting. Out in the yard, one of the big trucks had pulled up and was in the process of being unloaded by some of the guys from the crew. The thing was packed with building supplies and since it was a warm day, most of the guys had stripped off their shirts. Including Daniel, who had just jumped out of the back of the truck with another load of materials. Holy crap!

My mouth went dry and I realized I was gnawing on my lower lip. Daniel paused and looked up toward our window, wiping sweat from his forehead with the shirt he had tucked in his waistband.

I fought the urge to duck and pretend that I hadn't been caught staring at him shirtless, but as soon as his eyes caught mine, I decided I didn't care. He grinned and raised a hand in greeting, so I gave a timid wave back. The girls laughed like maniacs again, and we all decided it was time to get back to work before we looked like total stalkers. Daniel had worked all his life to be the great Guardian he was destined to be. But he had second thoughts when he finally learned who he would be watching over.

Anna was breathtakingly beautiful and he assumed it was only a matter of time before he became blind in love and be like his father and would leave his family soon. Of course, this devastated his mom a whole lot, but then what choice did they have? Anna was working her way up to success. But she didn't have confidence in herself. She's no Daniel had worked all his life to be the great Guardian he was destined to be.

She's not even aware that she got the Influence. That she was a Talent. Because she was adopted and she never had the chance to spend her lifetime with biological parents. Daniel would have to work overtime to convince her that he's the real deal and that she's got a lot in her plate, a lot more than meets the eye. Things got out of hand when Anna was abducted and used to work her power on other people. Daniel must find a way to save her, even if it would cost his life. Mind control, thought pusher, compulsion, persuader. These are the words that ran through my mind while reading Muse, and now, I think I'm going to include Influence in that list.

My mind worked seamlessly while devouring Anna and Daniel's one-of-a-kind relationship, and I thought I could never get enough of them.

Feel every word with award-winning performances

Oh gosh, I think Erin McFadden is a genius! I loved how she built this world of Talents and Guardians and Watchers and made me realize the mind is such a powerful tool. The characters are endearing and the plot was immersive and mystifying. She doesn't need to compel me to read Muse, because I'd gladly read all the books in this series. And I'm glad I got to read this one.

Muse is definitely one of the fantastically thrilling books I highly recommend! View 1 comment. Nov 29, Curly Carla Celebrity Readers rated it really liked it Shelves: paranormal-myth-fantasy. Solid first book by Mrs. And I love the cover. I received this book from the author because she is super nice. I would categorize this as a YA paranormal romance. It was a great, cute story. I felt that the romance might have been rushed a little bit for the story within the time frame; but with extreme circumstances come extreme emotions so with that the book was consistent.

Totally appropriate for ages 14 and up I feel. The book had a very easy going flow as I read it and I really like Daniel. I liked how she wrote the brotherhood as a bit archaic and old fashioned in that you were grandfathered in and only males were allowed to be guardians.

The reason I like that is because it opens the story up for more changes and development in the future. She was very helpful to others, had great support from her friends and a loving family. The only thing that I found lacking was her self-confidence. But it was endearing, the insecurities that she had. They were normal teenage insecurities that we all have had growing up. The story was pretty quick; I read it in a day. A lot of things happened quickly, and there was a lot of violence near the end.

From page one I was hooked. The author seamlessly draws you into a world where being a Muse can be dangerous. I really enjoyed the storyline and plot of this novel, it was different than most of the young adult books out there.

Hesiod's Theogony - Book I

I've read lots of novels in this genre and this is one of the best I have read in a long time. The characters are well written, the world building is good and the writing flows nicely. Anna and Daniel's relationship isn't based on teenage hormones like so many you read now a days.

It was refreshing to read a book in this genre that was actually acceptable for a young adult to read.

There was a little bit of something for everyone in this book; Action, humor I laughed a few times while reading because of the banter , romance and suspense. The ending wasn't an epic cliffhanger but definitely left me wanting to read the next book to see what is in store for Anna, Daniel, the other "Talents" and the Guardians. Kudos to Ms.

McFadden for writing a YA novel that even a not so "young" adult enjoyed reading. Disclaimer: This review was done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official. For more information regarding our reviews visit our Fansite: www. Apr 24, Katie McKnight rated it it was amazing.

The Nine Muses of Greek Mythology—An Easy Learning and Revision Guide

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Daniel Lyoncourt trained his whole life to join the Guardians. At the same time, he promises himself not to place the Talent he'll represent before his family. His father placed his Talent before the family, causing his mother to suffer a great deal of pain.

His promises die the moment he lays his eyes on Anna Saint-James.

Not only is she beautiful, she is not aware of her abilities. Daniel promises to protect and teacher her at the same tim I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Daniel promises to protect and teacher her at the same time. He also hopes their professional friendship will grow into a romantic relationship. I understand Daniel's feelings toward Anna, because I experienced the same feelings the moment I started reading Muse. The characters drew me in from the beginning.

While the plot was fast-paced and compelling, I forced myself to read slowly so I could savor every word. I was sad to lose these characters when I read the last page and look forward to Book 2. Simply put, I loved this book, from start to finish. I loved the characters, the story, the action, the sarcasm, the obscure references to television shows and movies of my youth. There were awwww moments, there were angry moments and there were moments that were truly laugh out loud.
